About

Check out the interview with me on digital storytelling.

Since I quit my job as a university lecturer back in 2004 I’ve been scribbling away from my base in Stockholm, Sweden, helping businesses communicate more effectively.

A communications strategist, I juggle consulting, copywriting, journalism, translation and (whisper it) creative writing, and have come to view myself as a bit of a hackwriter providing a variety of text services for Swedish and Norwegian companies selling to English-speaking markets.

As the Net has come to be a major communication channel for businesses I’ve moved increasingly into digital marketing and copywriting as I’m passionate about the way first class writing online is essential to connect businesses, people, information and knowledge.

Publications

As well as over three hundred articles for the British press, I’ve published a number of academic articles, a Norwegian grammar book, fiction and poetry.

My novel College.com was declared “essential reading” by The Times although it didn’t sell enough copies to allow me to retire to the South of France.

Qualifications
PhD in Writing – Liverpool John Moores University (2004).
MA in Fiction – the University of East Anglia (1995).
BA (hons) – Literature / Nordic Languages (1993) (including a dissertation, specializing on translation).
