Great WordPress Themes - But What About ExpressionEngine?

I’m a massive fan of ExpressionEngine. It’s great for blogging and running even more complex websites but there’s a dearth of decent themes out there. I’ve just been looking at Adii and Mark Forrester‘s new Live Wire themes for WordPress and, boy, if ever there was a theme to tempt you over to switch Content Management System, Live Wire is it.

Although I’ve taught myself a great deal about web design over the years, I’ve got to the point in my career (!) where I just don’t want to go down the track of fiddling with code again. In many ways that’s why I went back to a very text-based design for this site.

Still, even though I realise that words are what keeps a site going, I am very keen on magazine themes for websites. I use one on my kennel website, for instance.

So here’s the rub; a head’s up to all those talented WordPress designers out there, if you like. Why not give ExpressionEngine a spin? Especially if you’re looking to make a few pennies. If you follow the EE forums, there’s regular posts from people looking to get a hold of decent site themes. The standard answer from the EE community tends to be: “Hey, just adapt the WordPress theme. It’s not that hard.”

Trouble is, if you’ve got articles to finish or translations to complete, you just don’t want to get bogged down with fiddling with code.
