It seems crazy to me that storytelling – one of the most powerful forms of communication and learning – does not have a greater place within Swedish business.
Stories are one of the strongest ways in which words bring people together. In the work place, it is imperative that your people understand the company story. A deep understanding of a story is not only vital to achieving targets and goals, it is also what helps bring a team together and motivates them.
Stories in the workplace help you understand and make sense of the work you do and why you do it. Stories shape and change our actions and behaviours.
And because everyone can listen to a story, everyone can tell a story, everyone can be involved.
If you get a moment today, think about the stories being told in your workplace. Who tells the stories? How are they told? What does your story say about your business? What does it say about who you are speaking to?
